What is The True Price of Education?

July 1, 2019

What is the true price of education in the United States? Our country lags behind the rest of the world in education by OECD standards. Perhaps this is one reason our country leads the world in use of legal and illegal narcotics. It is hard to believe a country that makes up 5% of the population of the world uses 80-90% of all narcotics produced in the world.

It is also astounding that our country keeps throwing billions of dollars at the problems we have with the drug trade because things have gotten continually worse. Our federal government spends almost nothing on education. That is paid for by state and local taxes. Now the average citizen who keeps buying anything, and it continually makes things worse, would know enough to stop buying.

Not our government. If a few hundred billion dollars did not work, it was because we didn’t spend enough. Let’s just throw in a couple hundred billion more and see if we can’t get this right. There are no limitations when you are spending someone else’s money. Namely the taxpayer. Us, the American citizens for which our government seems to have quit working.

Is there a reason we continue to put people in jail when we know it does not work? It has been proven over and over that incarceration has helped nothing except it obviously lines the pockets of some people with money. Why else does a failed system keep putting people in jail for minor offenses?

Why are Blacks and Hispanics disproportionately incarcerated at far greater rates than Caucasians? I guess the answer to that question is obvious. They were born the wrong color. Of course, with all our genetic engineering available, we can change that. We’ll just throw four or five colors in a hat, pick one and everyone will now be changed to that color. End of color discrimination, easy.

You may be thinking I have really disjointed thinking today, but here is the reasoning. It all goes back to education. Education, education, education. If we divert all the money to education that we nonsensically and needlessly spend on drug trafficking we could eventually win this game. Or perhaps I should call it a war.

This all ties together. If we would legalize drugs, not only would we save money on incarceration that does no good and costs immense amounts of money, but we could collect taxes on the sale of controlled “street drugs” and divert that money to education. The billions of dollars of incarceration costs would also go to education. That is assuming the politicians are not diverting it to build a bridge to nowhere.

Education would help the American people get off the idea that everything is cured with a pill. Why do we believe that???? The USA and New Zealand are the only two countries in the world that allow big PHARMA to advertise drugs on television. If you do not believe this, ask anybody what the little blue pill is for.

Sorry this is so long, however this subject needs to be driven home. I need all your help spreading this message.

God bless you all from the Maverick Doctor,
