Squad Thrown Under the Bus

An article by Noah Rothman in Commentary reports that 398 out of 432 seated members of the Democrat-led House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to condemn the Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) movement, an amalgam of anti-Zionist interests that advocates for the delegitimization and ostracization of all Israeli institutions.

Just think, that is 92% of the Democratically controlled House of Representatives. What a slap in the face for the Squad, a sure sign that some of the Democrats are still alive, reasonable, sensible and remain American.

It was a vote Democrats would not have had to take but for the upstart progressives in their midst. The party’s progressive House freshmen have made a name for themselves by pushing their caucus to the left on a series of issues, one of which is support for America’s strategic alliance with Israel. They pushed too far.

Two Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib with the backing of very few of their colleagues are openly anti-Israel. Israel is the strongest ally the United States has in the Middle East. What reason could we have to slight them?

Why do we allow congressional members such as this to serve in Congress? Unfortunately for the Democratic Party, most of America is now against them as the Freshman Squad has pushed to the front lines of headlines for their party. Are Americans ready for congressional leaders such as these? They are fighting against the heart of our nation. They are not only anti-Israel, they are anti-American. Is Sharia law next on their agenda?

They will not be able to help constituents their own districts, the ones who elected them. All they have brought to their districts is the shame of their representation. Eventually all the Democrats will be against the “Four” when, in the coming election, they see what has been brought down on them, an umbrella of shame.
