Where is Grandma When You Need Her

Isn’t it wonderful to have a grandma you can lean on as Rashida Tlaib seems to be doing with her grandma right now? Tlaib wants to get in the news again. When I watched the interview of Rashida Tlaib’s grandmother, it didn’t appear grandma cared if she saw her granddaughter or not. She said she hadn’t seen her in years; the last time was 2007 to be exact.
It has been over 12 years ago since she last saw grandma. Tlaib says this may be her last chance to see her grandmother. It didn’t seem to matter previously when she was not seeing her. She didn’t care. Now she can use grandma as a pawn in politics; no wonder her grandmother may not care if she sees her. Here grandmother is certainly smart enough to know her granddaughter could care less if she saw her were it not for her granddaughter’s political motivation.
You can understand why Tlaib says this may be the last time to see her grandmother. If the next visit is another 12 years away, grandma will be 116 years old, but that is what happens when you can’t squeeze your grandma into your life.
This is certainly the last chance Tlaib will have to politicize a visit ‘over the river and through the woods’ to grandmother’s house. The people of Michigan’s 13th congressional district are growing sick of the embarrassment their representative is causing them. Not only is she an embarrassment to them but also to the Democratic party.
And when Israel offered compassion by allowing her to visit grandma, she turned them down. It was one more attempt to lobby her trip. And it helped give the brain-dead Democrats like Bernie a chance to put in his two cents worth; only anything Sanders has said in the past year has not been of that much value.
