Bernie is Handing Out Free Cars

Bernie is coming off the rails. When you watch what B.S. is promising to all the people who will vote for him now, about the only thing he does not say, is he giving away free cars. Now he promises free preschool to every parent in the country. What more could we want than free education, free healthcare, free housing, free food, and any other manner of free government handouts?
This is called Socialism. It all sounds good doesn’t it. What you should probably stop to think about is this. This is what all we give to all our incarcerated prisoners. They have it made! Don’t they? What is so bad about being in prison. Prison is pretty much giving prisoners all the things that Bernie Sanders and company is offering you. Sure, the prisoners do not need free preschool, but perhaps they will for their children when they get out.
So, what is different? I guess all in favor of Socialism are thinking that with Bernie for president, and AOC as the V.P., we, the Socialistic Citizens of America, will be living a life of luxury. Well, at least we can go out to eat in some fancy restaurant occasionally. Ask the people of Venezuela how that is working out for them. One-third of them going hungry and facing starvation.
I had a couple of friends in Leavenworth. Just the name is frightening. My two friends were in Leavenworth camp, not the main prison. Sure, they couldn’t go out and order a pizza and a beer; however, at least they are getting fed every day, had free room, free clothes (uniforms), and activities. That did not seem to me like much of a punishment. It was better than what Socialism offers, we the people.
Bernie keeps bringing up how well the Nordic countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland) are doing with everything and we can be like them. What Bernie, and some of his well-meaning (???) socialistic thinking compadres do not seem to know is that the Nordic countries are some of the most capitalistic societies in the world. What capitalism has done for the Nordic countries is make them the some of the most desirable countries in which to live. Their free markets and capitalism made the Nordic countries some of the most prosperous in the world. Oil helped.
The social fabric that makes up the Scandinavians is some of the strongest in the world. That strong DNA, made out of granite, is what also makes their society the most cohesive and benevolent in the world. Scandinavians are also some of the happiest societies in the world. All of this wealth and cohesiveness have driven them also to have the strongest welfare systems in the world. They have a heart for taking care of not only all of theirs, but everyone who visits. So sure, they give away many of the things Bernie wants to give away.
Why can America never hope to emulate these countries right now at this place in time? Many reasons, and they all make sense if you stop to think about them. I am going to use my country of heritage when I am talking because I grew up with Norwegians.
Norwegians are a very homogeneous group. America is the most diverse population of people ever collected together in one small geographic area, the United States. On a democracy index, Norway ranks number one in the world. The United States ranks number 25 and is designated a flawed democracy. On a happiness index, Norway ranks number one. The United States ranked number 18 in 2019 and has fallen five places since 2017, and is continuing to fall. We can’t seem to spend our way to happiness, can we?
This blog is getting too long, and I would have to write a book to say everything. All of you, please try to stay with me and spread these blogs about Socialism to all your friends. For those of you who think Socialism is sounding so great, Keep reading, please.
